Obituary: Shirley Ann Klatt – Door County Pulse – Cyber Tech

Feb. 5, 1934 – March 7, 2026

Shirley Ann Klatt, 92, of Sister Bay, handed away Saturday morning, March 7, 2026 at Woodview Assisted Dwelling of Serenity Spring Senior Dwelling at Scandia Village.

She was born Feb. 5, 1934 in Elkhorn, the daughter of Joseph Eugene Ryan and Matilda Owen (Clemans) Ryan. Shirley graduated from Elkhorn Excessive College with the category of 1952 and went on to check enterprise and laptop science on the College of Wisconsin-Madison the place she earned her diploma. She was one of many first ladies to check laptop science on the college.

She was united in marriage to Melvin John Klatt on Aug. 31, 1957 in Delavan, Wisconsin.

Shirley was initially employed with IBM as a pc programmer for just a few years till 1960 when she and Melvin began their household. 

They lived in Milwaukee, Denver, and Bloomington, Indiana. When she and Melvin moved to Wheaton, Illinois, she labored as a volunteer coordinator for the DuPage County Well being Division till her retirement. Shirley and Melvin moved to Door County in 1996 and resided in Ellison Bay.

She served on the Affiliate Board for Birch Creek Music Efficiency Heart in Egg Harbor. She additionally volunteered on the Liberty Grove Historic Society, Bargains Limitless, and Meals on Wheels. Shirley was an avid reader, particularly of mysteries.

She and Melvin shared over 68 years of marriage collectively. He died only a couple months prior on Jan. 14, 2026.

Shirley might be missed by his youngsters, Mary (Richard) Foster of Ellison Bay, Johnathon (Jeff Spychalski) Abrielle of Camas, Washington, and Peter (Shari) Klatt of Bartlett, Illinois; granchildren, Brandon, Kate, and Anna Foster and Tyler, Aidan, and Joli Klatt; sister-in-law, Janice (John) Zera of Franklin, Wisconsin; nephews, Mark and Phillip Zera; and different kin.

She was preceded in loss of life by her dad and mom; husband; sister-in-law, Florence Klatt; nephew, John Zera; and different kin.

At Shirley’s request, no companies might be held.
